In the morning of November 27th, the 2nd seminar of the Belt and Road
Initiative (BRI) and Overseas Chinese Development was kicked off on
Xiamen Campus of Huaqiao University (HQU), hosted by the College of
International Relations/College of New Overseas Chinese of HQU, and
co-hosted by Fujian Overseas Chinese think tank of Fujian Province Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. Nearly 60 participants attended the seminar. They are new overseas Chinese and key members of Overseas Chinese Community, mainly from Hong Kong and countries such as Russia, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Colombia, South Korea, South Africa and Nigeria participated, along with HQU's postgraduates majored in Study of
Regions and States.
Experts and scholars from the United Front Work Department of the CPC
Central Committee, Xiamen University and HQU were invited to give
lectures on overseas Chinese affairs, the Belt and Road Initiative orientation
and foreign policy with Chinese characteristics in the new era, BRI international public opinion analysis, the Maritime Silk Road and overseas Chinese, overseas Chinese hometown culture and overseas Chinese, overseas Chinese and cross-strait relations, and the participation of overseas Chinese in the construction of the Belt and Road, etc., involving with in-depth exchanges and group discussions.
