Under the guidance of China's National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC), the Belt and Road Talent Development Program Unimpeded Trade Senior Seminar 2023, is hosted by the International Cooperation Center of the NDRC and the Tanoto Foundation China. The 2023 seminar will take place in Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University from October 22 to 28, 2023.
This year's seven-day seminar mainly targets high-level government officials (Director-General and above) from the Belt and Road Initiative participating countries. The theme is Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative: Sharing Development Opportunities and Promoting Common Prosperity. Through special lectures, site visits, and focused discussions, the seminar aims to promote mutual learning, and win-win cooperation among the Belt and Road Initiative participating countries.
The Belt and Road Talent Development Program is committed to strengthening people-to-people bonds, and promoting exchanges and cooperation among the participating countries of the Belt and Road Initiative. Since its implementation in 2017, the program has successfully conducted 6 terms and has trained more than 350 elites in unimpeded trade cooperation for the Belt and Road Initiative participating countries.
The general information of this year's session is as shown below:
I. Theme
Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative: Sharing Development Opportunities and Promoting Common Prosperity
II. Date and Place
Date: 22-28 October 2023
Venue: Maritime Silk Road Institute of Huaqiao University, Jimei District, Xiamen Municipality, Fujian Province, China.
Ⅲ. Objective Participants
25 senior government officials (Director-General level and above) from the Belt and Road Initiative participating countries.
IV. Language
English-Chinese simultaneous interpretation.
V. Teaching Mode
The training program consists of special lectures, site visits, and focused discussions.
1. Special lectures: Participants will have the privilege to interact with renowned experts from governments, universities, and businesses will for their review on the achievements of the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, and insights on future cooperation trends, innovative cooperation models and mechanisms related to unimpeded trade cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
2. Site visits: Participants will have chance to visit the Xiamen Financial Service Center, Fujian Free Trade Zone, and Quanzhou City (known as the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road and World Heritage City) to experience the Maritime Silk Road culture and closely feel the pulse and vitality of China's economic, social, and cultural development.
3. Focused discussions: Participants will be able to discuss and exchange views with an amazing cohort of like-minded senior government officials on their countries' participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, their personal understanding of the Belt and Road Initiative, and future cooperation areas.
VI. Costs
All program costs would be borne by the organizer including participants' round-trip international transportation, accommodation and meals during the training, and expenditures for training and site visits.
VII. Certificate
After fulfilling all the requirements, participants would be conferred Certificate of Completion jointly issued by the International Cooperation Center of China's National Development and Reform Commission, Tanoto Foundation China, and Huaqiao University.
