Huaqiao University and NIIS CASS (National Institute of International Strategy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) will jointly hold the 2nd Session of 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Summit on December 17, 2016 in Huaqiao University, Xiamen, Fujian, China. Experts, past and present leaders, business elites came from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, India, Turkey and other countries along Maritime Silk Road, such as Bhokin Bhalakula, former President of the National Assembly of Thailand, Marzuki Alie, former Speaker of the People’s Representative Council of Indonesia, Hou Kok Chung, Vice-President, Malaysian Chinese Association, Ramazan Cem Gürdeniz, Retired Admiral of Turkey, would attend this summit. This international conference is certainly a timely and important event because with the Vision and Actions on Jointly Building Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road to Promote the Implementation of the Initiative published, countries along the Belt and Road have effectively promoted the policy coordination, facilities connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration and people-to-people bonds, and the Belt and Road Initiative have gradually stepped into the stage of implementation.
